Axolo
Brand identity. Stationery.
Axolo (Centro de Conservación de Biodiversidad del Parque Sierra Morelos) is a Mexican conservation and education center focused on preserving different species of Axolotls. Led by the architecture studio Riparia, Axolo is part of a public park-rewilding project that works as an ajolotario and museum where the public can get to know all about these animals.
For creating the visual identity, we started developing the brandmark, based on the physiognomy of the axolotl (amphibians belonging to the family Ambystoma) and the architecture of the site as direct references. We took inspiration from the environment to create the color palette, with a warm range of terracottas and deep green tones. Finally, we designed the Axolo mascot and multiple complementary graphics based on the natural elements around the life of an axolotl.
